The Era of Servant Leaders and Empowered Teams

To reiterate what we said yesterday- empathy matters, no strike that, it’s crucial. Obviously.

We spend a lot of time with teams increasing it and checking it, we have several plays that help leaders and team members gain more of it and so on.

In its absence, nothing truly valuable is possible. We never said otherwise. All we are saying is that it is a step only, a component. All the talk of empathy is surely needed for awareness building and because we have spent too much time marginalising human topics and we are horrendously behind on all of this work, but it is certainly not good enough.

In today’s video, we continue explaining why it’s not good enough and what huge effort is necessary to shift mentalities going forward.

We’ve seen a few tens if not hundreds of teams who have the same struggle - the resistance, the lack of human preoccupation, the absence of practice when it comes to doing any of the hard human work, the lack of supportive culture, the fears, etc. What we are facing is a true paradigm shift in the workplace, not a minor adjustment and attempting to navigate it without second thought will simply not work.
